Wait. What the hell is going on?

I’m working out and gaming at the same time. I call these gaming workouts (Creative, right?). I started doing this with Rocket League. I’ve since worked in DOTA, COD, Valorant, and Counter-Strike. Really, you can do it with any game that has a natural break that you can use hammer out some heavy deadlifts while not putting your team at a (major) disadvantage. I stream this three times a week on twitch. I’m looking for other games to try, so feel free to suggest others that we can play.

Why?

I’m a Dad of three boys. I work a corporate job all day. Blah, Blah, You all know the drill, time is limited and we need to squeeze in a workout. But the hardest thing about working out is the consistency it takes to see actual results. I’ve been working out on and off for nearly 20 years and I can always get myself excited for the first week of a new workout program. But inevitably, the newness starts to fade. I start missing a day or two a week, it’s harder to get out of bed. All of the normal excuses.

Equipment I Use

  • Barbell and Weights

  • Dumbells

  • Kettlebells

  • Squat Racks

  • Box (for Box Jumps)

  • Sandbags

  • Weighted Vest

  • Towel (to cry in after the workout)

Disclaimer

I’ve been lifting weights and working out for over to 20 years. I understand Olympic lifting and dynamic movements like the burpee well enough to make them safe for me. I’ve also learned what my limits are and when to push them over those years. The information I provide you throughout this plan is based on my experience. If you try to do this sort of thing, first contemplate YOUR goals, YOUR experience level, and YOUR limits. Adjust this plan accordingly. I’m not a doctor and have no certifications in health or fitness. So you shouldn’t take my advice, maybe just stop by the stream and say Hi!
